Amber Alert Warns 3-Year-Old in 'Grave Danger'

An Amber Alert was issued Tuesday in San Antonio for a 3-year-old boy who is believed to be in "immediate danger" and his mother.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) issued the alert for the boy, Kaiden Kriger, on behalf of the Bexar County Sheriff's Office. His mother was identified as Savannah Samantha Kriger.

Savannah was last seen leaving her job near the 3700 block of Fredericksburg Road, according to the sheriff's office. The Amber Alert warned that the child is believed to be in "grave or immediate danger."

The Context

The sheriff's office said Kaiden's mother left work early to pick up her child from day care. She was expected to take him to a doctor's appointment after picking him up.

"Savannah was last seen leaving her son's daycare center at approximately 2:00 pm driving a white 2023 Lincoln Aviator that was later found abandoned at Tom Slick Park off State Highway 151 E," the sheriff's office said.

What We Know

Kaiden is believed to have short brown hair and brown eyes. He stands at around 2 feet, 6 inches and weighs about 40 pounds.

He was last seen wearing "a Spiderman shirt with an attached Spiderman mask/hood and a black jacket," the sheriff's office said.

Savannah Kriger, 32, is believed to have blond/brown hair and brown eyes. She is about 5 feet, 4 inches and weighs around 255 pounds. She was last seen wearing "a red shirt with a black jacket or cardigan."

The two were believed to be in a 2023 white Lincoln Navigator with a Texas license plate number, SWW 7996.

Authorities believe that Savannah may have a firearm "in connection with their abduction," the Amber Alert said.

"Law enforcement officials believe this child to be in grave or immediate danger," the alert said. "If you have any information regarding this abduction, call the Bexar County Sheriff's Office at 210-335-6000."

Newsweek reached out to the sheriff's office via email for updated information.

Nationally, two other Amber Alerts are active: for Sebastian Rogers, 15, in Hendersonville, Tennessee, and Elijah Vue, 3, in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, according to the NCMEC.

Last week, a similar Amber Alert was issued for 2-year-old Kenji Montoya in El Paso, Texas.

"Police are looking for Miguel Montoya, 29 years old, white, male, 5'06", 130 lbs, brown hair, brown eyes and wearing a black Dragon Z baseball cap, black leather jacket, and blue shirt, in connection with their abduction," the alert said.
