Who Is Hosting the 2024 Met Gala?

What Is the Theme of the 2024 Met Gala?

This year's theme is "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion," which accompanies the museum's exhibition of the same name.

According to the Met, the exhibit features 250 rare items from across four centuries of fashion, with many of the pieces too fragile to ever be worn again. The museum hopes to "breathe new life" into the garments and accessories with the display.

The exhibition opens to the public on May 10 and runs until September.

Who Is on the 2024 Met Gala Guest List?

As usual, you can expect some big names to walk the red carpet. The guest list is top secret, but a few celebs have confirmed they will be there.

Celebs confirmed to attend the 2024 Met Gala:

  • Bad Bunny
  • Chris Hemsworth
  • Jennifer Lopez
  • Rihanna
  • Zendaya

Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny, Marvel actor Chris Hemsworth, pop icon J.Lo and Challengers star Zendaya are acting as co-chairs for this year's event, so their attendance is guaranteed. Rihanna has also confirmed that she will attend, telling Extra in April that she is keeping her look "real simple" this year.

Celebs who said they may attend the 2024 Met Gala:

  • Kelsea Ballerini

The singer-songwriter suggested on social media that she would make an appearance.

  • Sydney Sweeney

In an interview with People magazine, the Anything But You actor hinted that she had been invited but might have to skip the event because of work commitments.

Celebs we can expect to attend the 2024 Met Gala:

These stars have not confirmed or denied that they will be attending this year's event, but they have been Met Gala staples over the years.

  • Blake Lively
  • Hailey Bieber
  • Kendall Jenner
  • Kim Kardashian
  • Kylie Jenner
  • Sarah Jessica Parker
  • Timothée Chalamet

Celebs unlikely to attend the 2024 Met Gala:

  • Billy Porter

In recent years, Porter has been responsible for some of the gala's most daring looks, but the Pose actor has said he won't make it to this year's event. The actor told E! News in April that he was focusing on self-care after his mother passed away in February.

"I have to take care of myself, so I'm doing that," he said. "And that means not going to the party sometimes."

  • Taylor Swift

The pop star resumes her record-breaking Eras tour on May 9 with a performance at Paris' La Defense Arena. So it may be difficult for the singer to attend the Met Gala.

Nevertheless, Swift flew from Japan to Las Vegas in February to watch her boyfriend—Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce—play in the Super Bowl, and new reports suggested the Grammy winner could make an appearance.
