As such, Newsweek has provided a helpful list of shows and films that you should add to your list this weekend if you don't want to be left out of the water cooler conversations come Monday.

From new releases to projects about to depart the streaming platform, Newsweek has trawled through the list of what's hot so you don't have to.

The Top Show of the Week: 'Baby Reindeer'

It seems there is no stopping this critically-acclaimed United Kingdom-based show that has been a runaway success and, so far, has been in Netflix's top 10 for three weeks.

Writer and performer Richard Gadd stars in the seven-part series based on his real-life experiences of being a victim of stalking, sexual assault and abuse.

Baby Reindeer follows struggling comic Donny Dunn (played by Gadd) as he is persistently tormented and hounded by his stalker, Martha Scott (Jessica Gunning).

The show details the emotional toll it takes on Dunn, who has been entangled with Scott for four-and-a-half years. Another core part of the series is that Dunn is groomed and sexually assaulted by an older man working in the entertainment industry, played by Tom Goodman-Hill.

The limited series based is based on Gadd's autobiographical one-man stage-play, Baby Reindeer, which was a hit at Scotland's Edinburgh Fringe festival in 2019.

At the time of writing, the series had been viewed 22,000,000 times, with 87,400,000 hours viewed.

Looking for Laughs: 'Katt Williams: Woke Foke'

Katt Williams has seen a huge surge in popularity this year, thanks in large part to his wild and wide-ranging interview with Shannon Sharpe back in January.

Serving as a reminder as just how funny Williams is, the Club Shay Shay interview was just a taste of things to come, as Saturday, May 4, will see the debut of his comedy special, Woke Foke.

The veteran comedian's special will stream live on Netflix from Los Angeles' YouTube Theater at 10 p.m. EST, so prepare yourself for a no-holds-barred experience.

Catch It Before It Goes: 'Uncut Gems'

If you've never watched this 2019 crime thriller, which is arguably among Adam Sandler's best work, catch it now, as it will be gone by next week.

Uncut Gems follows Sandler as a fast-talking jeweler who is addicted to gambling. The manic main character believes he's stumbled upon a solution to pull him out of his problems by selling an oversized uncut opal.

However, as you'd expect, things don't go smoothly after he loans the gem to a customer who also happens to be an NBA star. Needless to say, the loan triggers a string of calamities.

New to Netflix: The 'Airport' Franchise

If you're itching for a trilogy of classic movies that will have you on the edge of your seat, look no further than the Airport franchise.

The first of the batch is George Seaton's nine-time-Oscar-nominated Airport, which was released in 1970 and made its mark as one of Hollywood's earliest disaster movies.

Should that one movie not be enough, you can follow it up with Jack Smight's 1974 sequel Airport 1975. And if the popcorn hasn't run out, you can round out the experience with Jerry Jameson's Airport '77, which was originally released in 1977.

If you'd rather remain at ground level this weekend, the third season of Selling the OC has arrived, promising a plethora of drama with a side-serving of eye-popping real estate.

Prefer something a little more sweet? Jerry Seinfeld's feature directorial debut Unfrosted is also new to Netflix. The star-studded movie delves into an imagined race between rival cereal companies that leads to the invention of the Pop-Tart.

If You're Craving Nostalgia: 'TLC Forever'

Years after they encouraged us all to avoid chasing waterfalls, as well as falling for the charms of scrubs, TLC's enduring legacy has been explored in Matt Kay's 2023 documentary.

TLC Forever tracks the highs and lows of the ceiling-smashing girl group TLC. Featuring archival footage, as well as new interviews, the documentary takes us backstage with members Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, and the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes.

And what about their friends? The documentary also features appearances from such stars that include Missy Elliott and Questlove, as well as late producer Rico Wade.

A Weekend-Long Binge Watch: 'Charmed'

No, not the original series that debuted back in 1998, but the CW's reboot of the same name that was unveiled to audiences in 2018.

The new version stars Melonie Diaz, Madeleine Mantock, and Sarah Jeffery, and promises to keep viewers spellbound with four seasons of compelling action. The sisters are known as the Charmed Ones, witches who protect the world from demonic threats.

Should that not draw you in, all six seasons of the Cartoon Network's classic series The Powerful Girls is also available on the streaming platform.
