Moment Woman Has Sinking Realization She Does Not Know How To Use Hair Tool

A TikTok user has shared a video of her disastrous attempt to use hair rollers, which has racked up over 4.9 million views as viewers react to her hair mishap.

Lynden Partch, who goes by the username @lyndenpartch, has used the popular hair styling tool in an effort to create a bouncy finished look, but soon realized her skills with the rollers were lacking after seeing how her friend had used hers.

Partch was left unimpressed with her own efforts after seeing how her friends' hair looked, and stated in the video's caption: "I clearly don't know how to do hair rollers. Pls send me a tutorial."

In the video, which has received over 280,000 likes since it was shared on May 3, Partch asked: "Wait, did I do this wrong because..." showing the camera the clear difference between her and her friend's method.

Partch appeared to be using Velcro rollers, a versatile, heatless style that works with most hair lengths and types. Other popular roller types include hot rollers, which heat the hair whilst setting the shape, and flexi-rod sponge rollers, a popular option for tight curls.

Whilst they both wrapped their hair around the rollers and used clips to secure, Partch had made a fatal error by rolling on the underside of all her hair, meaning there would be less volume and lift.

Her friend, however, had managed to use them correctly, placing the roller on top of her hair for a blow-out effect, and rolling away from her face. Whilst there's no right or wrong way to use rollers, Partch's method leaves the hair with minimal volume to create a more '90s inspired sleek result similar to the style Jennifer Aniston often wore as her Friends character, Rachel Green.

What Do the Comments Say?

The video has gone viral on TikTok, with many users finding it hilarious and relatable. Some also offered advice to Partch so her next attempt would yield better results.

One user commented: "It's giving GEORGE WASHINGTON vibes."

Multiple comments referenced the Gettysburg Address, with many including the words "four score and seven," indicating they thought Partch's hair style was straight out of the 1800s.

A third offered some advice, and shared: "I like doing the bottom layer curled under the sides typically diagonal at the temples and back and the Mohawk curled perpendicular to the scalp for max volume."

Another reassured her that her results wouldn't be as disastrous as she was expecting and wrote: "Directing the rollers towards your face actually makes the curls look sleeker and appear longer than directing them towards the back!"
