What to Watch This Week: 'Hacks,' 'Dance Moms' and 'Unfrosted'

By H. Alan Scott

Some big things are happening on TV and at the movies this week. Major talents like Jerry Seinfeld, Elisabeth Moss, John Mulaney and Katt Williams are all dropping new projects this week. Let's break down exactly what you need to watch.

This past weekend was dominated by two things, one special you could watch and one you'll have to wait for. The first was the White House Correspondents Dinner, hosted by Saturday Night Live's Colin Jost. Expect all the news shows to be talking about this for the next few weeks. (He had some harsh things to say about the ages of both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, but let's be real, he went way harsher on Trump.) The other special was the 49th AFI Life Achievement Award, which honored Nicole Kidman. The stars came out to honor Kidman, who herself sent social media into a tizzy with that gold dress. But unfortunately, we'll have to wait to watch this one, it won't air until June 17 on TNT.

But you don't have to wait for summer to watch good TV. Click below and tune in to these shows this week.

Entertainment stalwarts such as Disney, Paramount and Warner Brothers reported losses in 2023. Many blockbusters flopped, and movie theaters failed to regain their pre-pandemic profitability.

Studios are attempting to get back on track following a tumultuous year, but production activity is still down, while Wall Street's faith in the industry remains shaken. It's clear that Hollywood is undergoing a shift right now, but how will that affect it over the next ten years? Newsweek asked the experts.
